Acupressure & Meridian Balancing
What are Meridians?
Meridians are the energy pathways of the body and are the energetic "blood stream", the energetic equivalent of the circulatory system where "chi" or life force energy is the blood and the meridian pathways are the blood vessels.
There are 14 unique meridian pathways documented by ancient Chinese medicine for thousands of years, and confirmed by modern day people with the gift to clearly see the energies of the body, like Donna Eden.
There are 12 paired meridians that run bilaterally on the left and right sides of the body and they are named for the major organs they feed: Stomach, Spleen, Heart, Small Intestine, Bladder, Kidney, Triple Warmer, Pericardium, Gall Bladder, Liver, Lungs, and Large Intestine. Each of these meridians is governed by a 5 Element rhythm and has an emotional component. hey follow a specific energetic flow where the energy flow of each meridian is strongest at a different time of day,
There are 2 more meridians that run up the center front of the body, Central Meridian, and center back of the body, Governing Meridian. Together they form what is called the micro cosmic orbit which supports the entire meridian system and all the other energy systems of the body.
Meridians run deep within the body, but also along the skin, which is where we are able to access them. There are also 8 extraordinary meridians that anchor to the body, but flow outside the body sending their radiant joyful energy where most needed on the body.
What are Acupressure Points?
Acupressure points are the powerful points along the meridians that acupuncture uses, though acupressure and the use of the human hand to activate the points is much older than the use of needles and is just as, if not more, effective.
Acupressure points are areas of higher electrical conductivity and can be used to help keep the meridians in flow and balance. Meridian energy can be over, under, or stuck which can lead to physical problems, dysfunction, and pain.
Each of the over 400 acupressure points assists the body in a different way.
What is a Session like?
After a brief intake and discussion of what problems are occurring, the client will lie on a massage table, fully clothed, while the meridians are first energetically assessed and then balanced using acupressure points, tracing, 5 Element/Rhythm balancing, neurolymphatic points and neurovasular points. If time allows the 8 extraordinary meridians that run outside the body will also be assessed.
Acupressure & Meridian Balancing can be done as part of an Energy Medicine Session, or if you prefer a full Acupressure & Meridian Balancing session simply indicate this in the notes section at time of booking.
She knows from personal and clinical experience how powerful the meridians are, what havoc they can cause when out of balance, and the peace and health that can be restored when they are in balance.
